MEMBERSHIP
By joining the PTO you help us meet Shades Cahaba's needs that are outside the scope of their budget. When you go a step further and volunteer to help with events you set a fine example for our students to follow, and greatly encourage our teachers and staff.
Membership are $5.00 per adult.
If I join, do I have to...
Go to meetings?
No. You are welcome to attend our general meetings though.
Volunteer or spend a lot of time at school?
Nope! Joining the PTO is not the same as volunteering. If you choose to volunteer we would LOVE the help—but volunteering is not required.
MAY EVENTS
May 1st--Fifth Grade goes to the middle school
May 2nd--Flicks on the Field--Bring a blanket and chairs to watch The One and Only Ivan on the SCE field at 7:30 p.m.!
May 6th--Kindergarten Preview Day--4:00 p.m. in the SCE Auditorium
May 6th--Katherine Applegate (author of many books, including The One and Only Ivan) will visit SCE!
May 8th--Hospitality Meal/Duty Free Lunch
May 12th--PTO Meeting at 11:30 a.m. in the SCE auditorium
May 13th--4th/5th Grade Track Meet at Waldrop Stadium--4:00 p.m.
May 16th--5th Grade Recognition Day--1:00 p.m. SCE auditorium (with separate boy/girl parties to follow)
May 19th--House Games Field Day! And we need volunteers! Please choose a time slot if you're able to come help! (Parents can only attend House Games if signed up for a volunteer position) Shades Cahaba Volunteers: House Games Volunteers
May 21--5th Grade Pool Party--3:30-5:30 at Central Pool
May 22--School Supply orders due
May 22--Last Day of School! School dismisses at 1:30 p.m.
